Jojoba Oil | Hydrates
Hydrates the skin, balances natural oil production, delivers antioxidant protection, has anti-inflammatory effects, may have some antibacterial properties, and can help in the reduction of acne.
Kaolin Clay | Brightens/Mild Exfoliant/Soothes/Tightens
Kaolin absorbs sebum and prevents pore clogging. It's used to draw out impurities and toxins from the pores. It can clear the skin of excess oil, dirt, and pollution without causing any redness or irritation. It is a natural gentle exfoliant suitable for all Skin Types.
Ketoconazole |
It has become more widely known to use for those stubborn bumps on the Skin though it is found in an anti-dandruff shampoo (Nizoral). This ingredient treats fungal infections, reduces the overgrowth of fungus, and prevents fungal acne.
*Leave on textured bumps for 5-10 minutes and rinse off*
Kojic Acid | Brightens/Protects
Inhibits and enzyme necessary in the production of melanin, helping to fade dark spots, and discoloration. It also delivers some antioxidant protection.
Lactic Acid | Exfoliant
Brightens dullness, smooths, and evens skin, while also making it look firmer. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots. It exfoliates by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells to reveal a more radiant complexion. This is an AHA which is better tolerated by those with more Sensitive skin.
Licorice Extract | Brightens/Soothes
Minimizes the production of tyrosinase to combat discoloration. It also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is many times found in Products that are meant to lighten dark spots.
Madecassoside | Soothes
This ingredient is one of the Primary, most active compounds in Centella Asiatica.
It reduces free radicals, inhibits inflammation, and improves skin hydration. This antioxidant/anti-inflammatory ingredient is beneficial to those with inflamed, acne-prone, and photodamaged skin.
Magneisum | Soothes
May reduce acne, calm rosacea or sensitive skin, and improve the skin's overall appearance.
Malic Acid | Exfoliant
A type of fruit-derived AHA that exfoliates the superficial layer of the skin. It can smooth texture, fade discoloration, and help unclog pores. Malic acid is a larger molecule than Lactic and Glycolic acid making it more gentle, and optimal for those with Sensitive skin. Just remember if the molecule is larger, it doesn't penetrate as deep as smaller molecules.
Mandelic Acid | Exfoliant
Another AHA that is optimal for those with Sensitive, Acneic-prone. It may help reduce acne, fine lines, and wrinkles and improve the appearance of uneven skin. As a person ages, skin renewal slows down, causing the skin to lose elasticity, discolor, and develop fine lines and wrinkles.
Marshmallow Root Extract | Soothes
It helps relieve redness and irritation and also possesses emollient properties to soften and moisturize the skin.
Marula Oil | Hydrates
It is high in antioxidants , essential fatty acids, and amino acids. The oil itself is lightweight and absorbs into the skin easily. Once applied, it also helps hydrate your skin. It appears to be beneficial for oily, acne-prone, dry, and aging skin.
Niacinamide | (specific form of Vitamin B3) Brightens
Helps control excess oil and redness. It can minimize the appearance of enlarged pores, improve textured skin even out skin tone and discolorations from sun damage. This ingredient can be irritating/drying in high percentages, look for one at 5%.
Oats | Hydrates/Soothes
Contain certain glucose-based compounds that help bind water and are anti-inflammatory, which can be beneficial in conditions like psoriasis and eczema. It may help restore a broken skin barrier by repairing it and preventing water loss.
Omega Fatty Acids | Hydrates/Soothes
Help keep the outermost layer of our skin strong, and healthy and subsequently prevent moisture loss. It may also smooth the surface of the skin.
Panthenol | (Vitamin B5) Hydrates/Soothes
Binds to and holds water in the skin, moisturizing and leaving it soft, smooth, and more supple. It has anti-inflammatory properties, and is involved in activating the proliferation of cells that are important for wound healing and restoring the function of the skin barrier.
Polyhydroxy Acid | (PHA) Exfoliant
Including gluconolactone, lactobionic acid, and galactose, are chemical exfoliants that hydrate skin and help reduce the signs of aging. They're less irritating and less likely to cause sun sensitivity than other chemical exfoliants. PHAs fall under the AHA family but, similar to Mandelic acid are a larger molecule making them great for Sensitive skin.
Phenoxyethanol |
This is a Preservative used in MANY skincare and make-up Products to prevent the growth of bacteria, and stabilize product. This ingredient may cause irritation to those with Sensitive skin. If you see irritation and this ingredient is in most of your Products, trial using ones without! You may have an allergy to this ingredient.
Polyglutamic Acid | Hydrates
This ingredient is a hydration Powerhouse, it can hold up to 10x MORE water than Hyaluronic Acid. This helps seal the moisture in our skin, and enhances the skin's elasticity.
Polypeptides | Tightens/Stimulates
Smooth fine lines increase collagen production, and decrease the appearance of pores. Think of Peptides as messenger cells that can trigger collagen production. Some types of Peptides are more effective than others depending on their delivery system.
Reservatrol | Protects
An antioxidant that fights aging, protects the skin, and improves the overall appearance of skin.
Retin-A | Exfoliant
The brand name for tretinoin or all-trans retinoic acid, a form of acidic vitamin A, that has been classified as a drug or medicine.
Retin-A improves the appearance of the skin by helping reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reducing inflammation related to acne, providing the skin with exfoliation to prompt cell turnover. It can also improve issues with skin texture, tone, and hyperpigmentation.
Retinol | Exfoliant
All Retinols are a derivative of Vitamin A. There are many different forms but, in short they work by increasing collagen production as well as increasing the rate of skin cell turnover. They are great for fine-lines/wrinkles, acne, texture, and hyperpigmentation. Certain forms of this ingredient can be irritating to those with Sensitive skin.

Rosehip Oil | Hydrates
Brightens and evens out the skin, regenerates and heals, helps with anti-aging, elasticity, and collagen production.
Salicylic Acid | (BHA) Exfoliant
Sloughs off dead skin, removes excess oil, and reduces whiteheads and blackheads. This ingredient is best for those with oily-acne prone skin. BHAs are oil-soluble meaning they can penetrate deeper into the skin than AHAs.
Snail Mucin | Hydrates
Moisturizes skin, promotes collagen production, aids in skin healing and regeneration.
Squalane | Hydrates
A powerful emollient that helps skin stay hydrated. It also has antioxidant properties and may help with signs of aging.
Succinic Acid | Protects/Tightens
Help to control and balance excess sebum production to reduce shine and excess oil which is great for those with oily or acne-prone skin. It also helps to unblock pores and prevent them from clogging again leading to a reduction in overall pore appearance and size
Sulfer | Exfoliant
Kills bacteria, reduces sebum, and sloughs away dead skin. Sulfur can be used to treat those with mild-to-moderate acne, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, and eczema.
Tranexamic Acid | Brightens
Fades discoloration, brightens skin, reduces the appearance of acne scars.
Urea | Hydrates
Dissolves the intracellular matrix, which loosens dead, scaly skin. This makes it ideal for treating calluses, dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, and keratosis pilaris. It also draws moisture into the skin for serious hydration.
Willow Bark Extract | Mild Exfoliant
Gently exfoliates, calms redness, reduces oiliness and signs of aging. This ingredient is a natural salicin source, which is where the powerful acne-fighting ingredient, salicylic acid comes from. Willow Bark Extract is more gentle and favorable for those with Sensitive skin.
Zinc | Protects/Soothes
Zinc reduces inflammation and can help decrease the severity of acne breakouts, especially for people with minor acne. Mild acne includes blackheads, whiteheads, papules, and pustules.
